Rest Easy, Tons are in Place
Mar 27, 2024
“At Federated we are proud to say you can sleep easy,” said Scott Nelson, Federated’s director of agronomy, because your 2024 fertilizer supply is already in place.
“Federated has all its spring tons either in our sheds or on the ground somewhere in Minnesota,” he said.
Federated doesn’t count on fertilizer coming right off the river for spring because anything can happen to disrupt delivery.
Nelson described last year’s situation when the CHS terminal went through a long stretch where the water was too low and they could only send in partially loaded barges. Nine days later the water level was too high and they couldn’t get any barges in to unload.
Federated avoids the risk of river issues by ensuring that growers’ primary fertilizer needs are met with product that’s already in place before the season begins.
“Federated is proud to be able to offer this kind of assurance … your tons will be there when you need them,” said Nelson. Talk to your Federated Agronomist with any questions about fertilizer for this spring.
