Nutrients and Seed: Ready to Go
Mar 26, 2025

Seed
Federated’s seed supply is ready and waiting for spring planting. “We will deliver the seed when you are available,” said Sam Johnson, Federated ag sales rep in Albertville.
“Corn seed is pretty easy,” Johnson said, not requiring much lead time to secure delivery.
Treated soybean seed requires a bit of advance notice – 3-4 days is essential, and “a week is great,” said Johnson. Once the soybean seed is treated, Federated will deliver it and the seed needs to get in the ground as soon as possible.
Corn seed is returnable; treated soybean seed is not. Talk to your Federated Agronomist with any questions about seed this spring.
Nutrients
Federated’s fertilizer supply is ready to move. “Our buildings are full, and all of the nutrients are in place,” said Ron Paulson, Federated’s Isanti location manager.
And beyond Federated’s [large] storage capacities, additional fertilizer supply is in place with Federated’s name on it at Twin Cities terminals – so there won’t be any need to wait on river barges.
Federated is as prepared as ever – and maybe more so, given the challenging economic climate – and your preparedness will help keep things moving well. “Give us 24 hours’ notice for fertilizer deliveries,” said Paulson. And for custom fertilizer applications, at least 24 hours’ notice is needed.
“We want to efficiently schedule custom applications – map the routes,” he said. That’s only possible when Federated gets notice on time.
Federated is ready to efficiently move fertilizer across our service areas. Plan now to keep us informed of your need as soon as you know it! Talk to your Federated Agronomist with any questions or concerns.
